Our commitment to nature is paramount because only then can you make natural, elegant and authentic wines.
Tandem is the brainchild of José Maria Fraile and Alicia Eyaralar, two of the leading lights in the Navarra winemaking scene. Committed to making the best wines in the region with minimal intervention in the vineyards and winery, Tandem is cited by critics as ‘cutting edge’ Navarra. The grapes are cultivated in the heart of the Yerri Valley, which is recognised as the best area for quality wine in the region. Respect for nature is an obsession - they follow the precepts of sustainable viticulture, while maintaining the vineyard’s health and viability. In the winery, a minimum intervention approach is also taken to ensure the grapes reflect their true character and terroir. In 2019, Tandem were certified Vegan and accredited the internationally recognised ‘V label’ by the European Vegetarian Union.

In Latin, art in glass or in bottle. We want to express in this wine the freshness and powerfulness of our cool climate grapes from the Yerri Valley without the presence of wood. Fresh, enjoyable, pleasant and ideal for any occasion.

2019 Vintage - 90pts Tim Atkin
One of Sarah Jane Evans's 30 great value Spanish wines - Decanter, 90 pts
90 points - Josh Raynolds, Vinous
Bright, nervy aromas of red berries and flowers complicated by suggestions of white pepper and succulent herbs. Tangy redcurrant and rose pastille flavors flesh out in the mid-palate, picking up a deeper cherry quality and a suggestion of licorice. Closes juicy, spicy and long, with no rough edges and just a whisper of tannins. This vibrant wine was aged in large concrete tanks for two years., 90 points - Stephen Tanzer

A fresh, unoaked Tempranillo and Merlot blend that expresses the power of the cool-climate, mountain terroir of Yerri Valley. Inviting red plum and black fruits are layered with mineral notes and a hint of violet, through to a deliciously long finish.

Grapes enter the winery by gravity. Cold maceration before fermentation starts at controlled temperature, 28 - 30 ºC. Fermentation without pumps, using cap plunging (pigeage) to obtain an elegant colour and fine tannins that will determine its palate structure. Wines racked by gravity to the lower storey vats for their malolactic conversion. Wines kept in vat for minimum 24 months settling down for a natural fining and stabilization. Bottled by gravity with a minimum filtration.
