The first traces found of Château Cormeil-Figeac date from the 17th century. In the Féret of 1867, Cormeil-Figeac is presented as one of the premier crus of the 100 oldest properties in Saint-Emilion. Distillers in Libourne, it is René and Lucie, the grandparents of current owner, who acquired this vineyard in 1940, which was left in a sorry state. They completely rehabilitated it to bring it back to life and make it a very sought-after vintage by the Bordeaux merchants after the war.

Produced from old vines in this family-owned estate, this wine is dense and solid. Wood aging has given it a structured character as well as some serious tannins. It comes from the sector of Saint-Émilion known as Figeac, on the west side of the appellation. Drink this powerful wine from 2023. Roger Vos
Intensely aromatic and floral nose, with notes of herbal, spiced pepper, and some cocoa. Bright red and blue fruit on the palate, pomegranate juice, redcurrants, and cool blueberries, with further savoury flavours. The tannins are very fine and silky, with a lovely salinity. Great tension and energy to the wine, and a longing finish.
